Who are eligible to apply?
FG Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards is offered to Nigerian students in their final year of high school or have secure their first degrees to pursue postgraduate programmes. The aim of the scholarship is to promote bilateral relations between Nigeria and other countries by providing opportunities for Nigerian students to study abroad.
To be eligible for the FG Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Nigeria
- Be aged 18-25 years old
- Have completed their secondary education
- Be a citizen of Nigeria
- Be in their final year of high school

BEA Scholarship Statistics
The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has awarded scholarships to 3,988 students from across the country under the BEA scheme. The beneficiaries were offered placements in various tertiary institutions in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, China and Russia.
The scholarships are worth a total of N7.8 billion and were awarded to students who met the minimum requirements set by the FGN. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have scored a minimum of 200 points in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). They must also have at least five credits in their Ordinary Level examinations, including English Language and Mathematics.
2,876 out of the 3,988 scholarship recipients are currently studying in the UK while 664 are in the US. There are also students pursuing their studies in Canada (146), China (92) and Russia (50).
