AUT offers a range of scholarships to students domestically and internationally who demonstrates a high academic excellence.
What is an AUT scholarship?
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and the Faculty of Culture and Society provide scholarships to recognise and support high achieving international students as they begin their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT. An AUT scholarship is a merit-based award that helps students cover the cost of their education. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, and community service.
Who is eligible for an AUT scholarship?
- Applicants must be full fee-paying international students (Note: International students are students who are neither citizens, permanent residents nor resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia)
- There is a Declaration section for applicants if they have applied for other forms of scholarships both internally (i.e., by AUT) and externally (e.g., government scholarships). See Form
- Be enrolled or intending to enroll in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at AUT
- Demonstrate academic excellence
- In addition be a citizen of New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or the European Union
Documents Required for Application
Applicants are to upload:
- Current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study at AUT.
- Detailed academic transcript with grading scale of the most recent qualification.
- Completion certificate (e.g., bachelor’s degree certificate), if applicable
- A personal statement (maximum 200 words) explaining why you are applying for this scholarship, and what it would mean to you to receive it. A good Scholarship resume

What are the benefits of an AUT scholarship?
An AUT scholarship can provide significant financial assistance to help you meet the costs of your tertiary education.
